Conqueror

Once upon a time
A green cell became lazy
And so
Instead of using its chlorophyl
To manufacture starch
From sunshine and water
(A tedious process, I assure you)
 It ate another cell.
Thus was born,
 All unheralded by newspapermen,
 The shorter working day
Dependent upon
A carnivorous society
Which at present
Has so advanced
That certain nations attempt
 To devour other nations,
Hoping ultimately to achieve
 For the "chosen races"
An even shorter working day
Than the first lazy cell enjoyed
Until eaten by
An unprincipled neighbor
 The Copycat!
