Blue Eyes

I never knew
That the eyes could be
So blue,
Till I met you.

But now, to my surprise,
I find your eyes
Are like the sea,
Or skies.

Now, hazel eyes, or gray
Seem quite passe.
I frown
At brown.

I lack
Appreciation, too, of black.
For all my days
I'd like to gaze.

Although
I know
It's most unwise
Into
Your blue
Blue,
Blue, Blue,
Eyes.

MARY CAROLYN DAVIES.
